Introduction

The San Fernando National Reserve covers a territory of about 60,000 hectares (including cliffs, beaches, and the maritime expanse of the bay), constituting this a reserve of exceptional biodiversity. This bay is an ideal place for the development and reproduction of the sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and some sea otters. The colonies of mammals observed in San Fernando are among the most important of the Peruvian coast. A phenomenon that is undoubtedly the most surprising here is the presence of the condors, which makes this place the last coastal habitat of the condors. Along this area, there are also hills that commence from Pampa Galeras and continue through the Pacific site, serving this as a refuge for wildlife, such as: native camelids “guanacos”. Feed on the bulbs of very specific native plants, these camelids remain in this coastal zone despite their being famous for inhabiting in the heights.

ITINERARY

Description:

At a coordinated time, our local guide will pick you up from your hotel to start the guided tour to the National Reserve of San Fernando. Once boarding our vehicle, we will head to the southwest of the city through a trail that goes within the immense desert towards San Fernando Bay. After approximately 2 hours, we will be privileged with a breathtaking view of the bay from the top of the cove. Then, we will descend to a natural viewpoint next to the cliffs where we will be able to appreciate amazing sea creatures, such as: wolves, sea lions, Humbolt penguins, and hundreds of birds from diverse species; all which make this place very unique.
With a bit of luck we can also observe condors flying over this place, as well as otters on the beaches, guanacos and Andean foxes walking along the bay. We will also go through much of the cove enjoying the natural display of the landscape.
Additionally, we can enjoy our box lunch right in front of the sea, enjoying at all times the wonderful natural scenery.
Finally, we will board our transport transport in order to return to the city of Nazca. Upon our arrival to the city of Nazca, you will be transferred to your respective hotel where our services end.
