Introduction

The Petroglyphs of Chichictara are located in the province of Palpa to the north of the city of Nazca. Carved on volcanic and alluvial rocks, the whole area is distributed in three sectors. Within the iconography displayed throughout the entire site, you can find figures of warriors, felines, birds, snakes, camelids, and monkeys among others. All which are manifestations of stone art from the Paracas Culture (600 BC. - 200 AD.)

ITINERARY

Description:

At a coordinated time, our local representative will pick you up from your hotel in Nazca to board our private transport in order to start the tour towards Palpa valley, which is located 50 km north of the City of Nasca. Accompanied by our local guide, you will then take a walk through the area where are the famous Chichictara petroglyphs are scattered on the foothills that border the valley. On this area, we will observe over 150 carved rocks with different cosmological, anthropomorphic, and zoomorphic designs within an area of 3 sq. km. Our local guide will single out all the most outstanding and easily accessible to you.
After observing the amazing and impressive designs around the place for 1 hour and 15 minutes approximately, we will descend from the hills to take our transport and return to the city of Nazca. Upon our arrival to the city of Nazca, you will be transferred to your respective hotel.
